Sandrific has been named a People’s Champ winner in the 2010 Pixel Awards Weird category. Established in 2006, the Pixel Awards take a fresh look at the best on the web. They are the cutting-edge website award, annually honoring compelling sites that have shown excellence in web design and development.
Websites are submitted in diverse categories such as Agency, Apps, Fashion, Geek, Green, Movies, and Non-Profit. Any site can enter. Only 22 exceptional judges’ picks and 22 People’s Champ winners were selected.
In the Pixel Awards, Weird designates “strange sites that are so cutting-edge, they’re bleeding-edge. Not just breaking barriers, burning them down. Rhyme or reason optional.” The mind-blowing Propaganda3 Experience (free the Viridian Disciple!) from p3 | bazillion was named category winner. Other outstanding competitors included Errandboy’s Playground; Skullcandy Virtual Room from Rain LLC; and The Threshold from JUXT Interactive. The complete list of nominees and categories can be viewed here.
Sandrific currently showcases 81 sands from 17 different countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, France, Mexico, Honduras, Australia, New Zealand, Tunisia, Egypt, India, and several Caribbean islands.
A big thank you to everyone who voted for Sandrific!
